Everyone in the class has committed to reading two AR bbooks over the fortnight break. We look forward to completing many more Quizzes when we return on January 9th 2017.

Robin Redbreast

Uncategorized

The robin is probably the most familiar garden bird. Most of our class has spotted robins over the last three weeks. The bright orange/red breast and facial features area make the robin unmistakable. Its upperparts a uniform greyish brown, belly and lower breast greyish white. The bill is dark and pointed and the legs black. Many robinsappear very plump and rounded, especially in cold weather when the bird fluffs out its feathers.

The Last Wolf

Uncategorized

Due to the popularity of our last novel, my arm has been twisted into studying another short novel with the class. After deliberating we decided on guided reading ‘The Last Wolf’ by Michael Morpurgo.

The Present by Christy Kenneally

Uncategorized

Today we discussed how important it is to have our families at Christmas. We spoke about making a good effort over the coming weeks to help our parents and co-operate with our siblings. The best things in life like love, hope and faith cannot be bought and are really invaluable.

The Present

The poor little boy was as sad as could be. He had no present for under the tree.
“Oh, my Mammy and Daddy work so hard for me, I have nothing to give them to thank them you see.”

But, later, alone, on his small little bed,
he took bright coloured paper and long bits of thread.
And he tied up a parcel with nothing inside, and he crept down the stairs when the parcel was tied.

When he woke the next day, he went down to the tree,
he saw Mammy and Daddy as glad as could be, “We got perfume, a tie and a clock for the shelf, but your present is special, you made it yourself. And your bright little parcel, all tied up and small, was filled up with love, the best present of all.
